The Brookstone Cougars won the last time they faced the Kendrick Cherokees, and things went their way on Thursday too. Brookstone walked away with a 45-33 victory over Kendrick. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Brookstone.
Brookstone got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Carsyn Galligan out in front who dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds. The match was Galligan's sixth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Maggie Yancey, who scored nine points along with five steals.
Despite the loss, Kendrick still got an impressive performance from Demyah Collins, who scored 21 points along with three steals. The game was Collins' third in a row with at least ten points.
The win got Brookstone back to even at 3-3. As for Kendrick, their loss dropped their record down to 3-2.
Brookstone will head out on the road to face off against Jordan at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Kendrick, they will be playing at home against Central at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Central presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Kendrick in Georgia (Central is ranked 195th, while Kendrick is ranked 453rd).
