This season hasn't been kind to the Baldwin Indians, who are still winless after their 19th contest. They were outmatched by First Coast on the road and fell 62-30. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Baldwin in their matchups with the Buccaneers: they've now lost five in a row.
Despite the defeat, Baldwin saw an underclassman step up: nikeese doss scored seven points along with 16 rebounds and three blocks. Doss is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down 11 or more in the last three games he's played. Anthony Hitchens was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with two blocks.
Baldwin's loss was their 17th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-19. As for First Coast, their victory bumped their record up to 15-8.
Baldwin's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Storm on February 6th. San Jose Prep presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Indians in Florida (the Storm are ranked 189th, while the Indians are ranked 767th). As for First Coast, they will take on the Panthers at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
