There's no place like home for the Woodland Wolfpack, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Tuesday. They secured a 43-37 W over Mt. Zion on Friday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Woodland also won the last time the pair played back in January.
Akira Brown was a one-man wrecking crew for Woodland as she scored 21 points along with six rebounds and four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Brown has scored all season. Kennedy Riley was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with two steals.
Despite the loss, Mt. Zion saw an underclassman step up: Makayla Juhan scored 19 points. That was a full 51.4% of Mt. Zion's points, marking the fifth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Woodland now has a winning record of 12-11. As for Mt. Zion, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 8-13.
Woodland will challenge Hampton at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Woodland is facing Hampton at the right time seeing as Hampton is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Mt. Zion, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against McDonough at 6:00 p.m.
