The Fruita Monument Wildcats put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They walked away with a 43-30 win over Grand Junction. Despite the victory, that was the fewest points Fruita Monument has scored all season.
Fruita Monument's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Daniel Thomason, who scored 12 points along with four steals. Thomason is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed three or more in the last three games he's played. Max Orchard was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with six rebounds.
Fruita Monument's win was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 19-0. As for Grand Junction, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-6.
Fruita Monument will be playing at home against the Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Grand Junction Central will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Colorado Rankings (they are ranked 120th, while the Wildcats are ranked fifth). As for Grand Junction, they will head out on the road to challenge the Red Hawks at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Montrose focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up eight on Tuesday.
