The Hutto Hippos will look to defend their home field on Friday against the Bryan Vikings at 7:30 p.m. Hutto knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past four matchups -- so hopefully Bryan likes a good challenge.
Even though Copperas Cove scored an imposing 33 points on Friday, Hutto still came out on top. Hutto secured a 38-33 W over Copperas Cove.
Will Hammond continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, throwing for 415 yards and two touchdowns while completing 76.3% of his passes, and also punching in three touchdowns on the ground. Hammond hasn't dropped below 300 passing yards for four straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Alex Green, who picked up 184 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Bryan had to suffer through a rough 49-21 loss at the hands of Midway. Bryan has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Bryan's defeat came about despite a quality game from tj love, who picked up 116 receiving yards and a touchdown. Love was no stranger to the big play, cutting upfield for a catch that went for 65 yards.
With Hutto's victory and Bryan's loss, both teams now sport identical 3-5 records.
Hutto might still be hurting after the 58-38 loss they got from Bryan in their previous matchup back in October of 2022. Will Hutto have more luck at home instead of on the road?
