Providence is 8-2 against Ardrey Kell since April of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Panthers will head out on the road to face off against the Knights at 6:00 p.m. Providence will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.

Mattingly Amisano made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out eight over five innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March.
In other batting news, Sophie Strugar was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Phoenix Scott, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.
Providence always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .538. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as South Mecklenburg only posted an OBP of .250.
Meanwhile, after a string of six wins, Ardrey Kell's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They took a 9-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of Hickory Ridge.
Reagan Martin made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with two doubles and one run. Leah Roggenbaum was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one triple and one run.
Ardrey Kell's defeat dropped their record down to 14-8. As for Providence, their record is now 21-1.
Friday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Providence hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .430. However, it's not like Ardrey Kell struggles in that department as they've averaged .354. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Providence was able to grind out a solid win over Ardrey Kell in their previous matchup back in March, winning 5-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Panthers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
