The North Polars's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight loss. They took a serious blow against Lakeville South, falling 73-26. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points North has scored all season.
Kalli McGrane and Maddy Anthony certainly did their best on Thursday to try and avoid the loss. McGrane scored ten points, while Anthony scored five points along with five rebounds. McGrane is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played.
North has fallen quite a ways from their 19-8 record last season and are now at 1-7. As for Lakeville South, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 5-5.
North won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Totino-Grace at 2:00 p.m. on December 29th. Totino-Grace knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past eight contests -- so hopefully North likes a good challenge. As for Lakeville South, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Century at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
