Volleyball Recap: Clairemont's Winning Streak Snapped at Four Games

Clairemont managed to slip by Grossmont the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Chieftains lost 3-0 to the Foothillers on Thursday. The Chieftains' defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Clairemont took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-12, 25-13, 25-16.

Grossmont can attribute much of their success to Ciarrah Doliente, who had 12 digs and three aces. What's more, Doliente posted five assists, the most she's had over her last eight contests.

Clairemont now has a losing record of 7-8. As for Grossmont, their victory bumped their record up to 5-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Clairemont will take on Hilltop at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Grossmont, they will face off against Oceanside at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Pirates will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Foothillers surely won't give up without a fight.
