The Academy at Palumbo Griffin were the 63-49 winner over the Northeast Vikings when they last played one another back in January of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Academy at Palumbo took a 52-38 bruising from the Vikings on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, Academy at Palumbo can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 426th, while the Vikings are ranked 110th).
Northeast's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jalen Lee-womack led the charge by almost dropping a double-double on ten points and nine rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Darrius Gaeta, who scored eight points along with five steals.
Academy at Palumbo are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-7. As for Northeast, they pushed their record up to 17-3 with that win, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season.
Academy at Palumbo will head out on the road to square off against the Seadogs at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Maritime Academy Charter has now lost eight straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 19. As for Northeast, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Raptors at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
