The Doane Stuart Thunder Chicken's game last Wednesday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They came out on top against Berlin/New Lebanon by a score of 77-64. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Leading Doane Stuart to victory were Kiere Franze and James Calcagno. Franze scored 28 points, while Calcagno scored 32 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Calcagno has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaidi Xu, who scored eight points.
Doane Stuart's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-3. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 79.0 points per game. As for Berlin/New Lebanon, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-14.
Coincidentally, Doane Stuart and Berlin/New Lebanon will both be playing Loudonville Christian the next time they take the court. Doane Stuart will head out to face Loudonville Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, while Berlin/New Lebanon will head out to face them at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday.
