The Stevens Falcons lost against the Brennan Bears back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Stevens was outmatched by the Bears on the road and fell 88-25. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Stevens has scored all season.
When it comes to explaining why Stevens lost, one person who can't be blamed is Mya Guzman. Despite the final result, she scored nine points.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Brennan to victory, but perhaps none more so than Bella Flemings, who dropped a double-double on 27 points and 12 rebounds. Taylor Ross was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds.
Stevens has traveled a rocky road recently having lost 13 of their last 16 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-19 record this season. As for Brennan, the win was the 15th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 26-3.
Stevens will be playing at home against the Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. O'Connor presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Falcons in Texas (the Panthers are ranked 265th, while the Falcons are ranked 568th). As for Brennan, they will head out on the road to challenge the WILDCATS at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Sotomayor is on a 11-game streak of home wins, the Bears a nine-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court.
