Normal Community dropped down to 17-4 on Friday, ending the team's three-game streak of wins. They fell just short of the Incarnate Word Academy Red Knights by a score of 2-1. The Ironmen were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Red Knights apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2021.

As for Incarnate Word Academy, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-8. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory they have posted since October 16, 2024.

Leading Incarnate Word Academy to victory were Avery Buckley and Kendall Stroer. Buckley had 32 assists and five digs, while Stroer had 11 digs and two aces. Buckley has been hot for a while, having posted 15 or more assists the last 11 times she's played.

Normal Community wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-0 win against Non Varsity Opponent on the 4th. As for Incarnate Word Academy, they have also already played their next match, a 2-0 victory against Belleville West on the 3rd.
