The Irondale Knights's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their 13th straight loss. They took a 72-67 hit to the loss column at the hands of Stillwater. While losing is never fun, Irondale can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 291st, while Stillwater is ranked 127th).
Irondale lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Cameron Cramble, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Cramble has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Rowan Granlund, who scored 16 points.
Irondale's defeat was their seventh straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-19. As for Stillwater, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 11-10.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Irondale will square off against East Ridge at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. East Ridge knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past 20 contests -- so hopefully Irondale likes a good challenge. As for Stillwater, they will head out on the road to take on Roseville at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Roseville knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past five games -- so hopefully Stillwater likes a good challenge.
