It was a good run, but the Wheatley Wildcats unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Friday. Their rough 64-44 loss to Yates might stick with them for a while. Wheatley was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 39-17.
When it comes to explaining why Wheatley lost, one person who can't be blamed is Autumn Breedlove. Despite the final result, she scored 15 points along with four steals. Breedlove is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last eight games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Anyia Lazard, who scored nine points along with six rebounds.
Wheatley's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 14-12. As for Yates, the win (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 10-3.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wheatley will take on the Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. North Forest is no doubt hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses. As for Yates, they will be playing at home against the Colts at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
