The Prairie View Thunderhawks suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Saturday. They were the victim of a rough 52-32 defeat at the hands of Poudre. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Prairie View in their matchups with Poudre: they've now lost five in a row.
Despite the loss, Prairie View still got an impressive performance from Celicia Robles, who scored 16 points. Robles is absolutely dominating the point category: she's posted at least 15 every time she's taken the court this season.
Kavi Voglund was her usual excellent self, scoring 18 points along with five rebounds and three steals for Poudre. Voglund hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Jaqueline Forrest, who scored eight points along with two steals.
Prairie View's defeat dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Poudre, the victory got them back to even at 6-6.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Prairie View will face off against Fort Collins at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Fort Collins will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive. As for Poudre, they will head out on the road to challenge Broomfield at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Broomfield focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 on Wednesday.
