Baseball Recap: Highland Beats Holyoke for Their Third Straight Win

Highland entered their tilt with Holyoke on Saturday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They blew past the Dragons 21-2. The result was nothing new for the Huskies, who have now won six matchups by nine runs or more so far this season.

Sawyer Morgan was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Highland's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 5-1 (and 2-3-1 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Stetson Hendren, who scored three runs and stole three bases while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

Highland always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .697. They are 7-1 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Highland's win bumped their record up to 7-4-1. As for Holyoke, their loss was their tenth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 0-12.

Looking ahead, Highland will welcome Merino at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Holyoke, they will venture away from home to square off against Prairie at 1:00 p.m. on Monday. The Dragons' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Mustangs have averaged an impressive 9.2 runs per game this season.
