The Plainfield Panthers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Putnam Clippers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that the pair suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.
Last Saturday, Plainfield came up short against Montville and fell 62-52.
Putnam suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Friday. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 70-47 walloping at the hands of Stonington.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Evan Mailloux, who scored 15 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Aysaiah Chavez was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with eight assists and three steals.
Plainfield's loss dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Putnam, they now have a losing record at 5-6.
Plainfield came up short against Putnam in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, falling 50-44. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Putnam's Noah Rudman, who shot 5-for-7 from beyond the arc and dropped a double-double on 22 points and 12 rebounds. Now that Plainfield knows the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
