North Stafford is on a four-game streak of home wins, while Riverbend is on a seven-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Wolverines will welcome the Bears at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.
On Monday, North Stafford had just enough and edged out Colonial Forge 3-1. The Wolverines haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

Not much got past Kaylie DeChicchis, who gave up just seven hits and racked up 17 Ks to keep Colonial Forge off the board. DeChicchis has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts any time she's pitched this season.
On the hitting side, North Stafford saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kaylee Lizardo, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI.
Meanwhile, Riverbend never let their opponents score on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Mountain View 1-0. Those one runs were actually the fewest the Bears have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.
The result came thanks to Chloe King's shutout, as she gave up just two hits and racked up 12 Ks.
At the plate, Jameson Snell was excellent, going 1-for-2 with one home run. That home run was her first of the season.
Riverbend's victory bumped their record up to 14-3. As for North Stafford, their win bumped their record up to 9-4.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Friday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. North Stafford has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 10.8 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Riverbend struggles in that department as they've been averaging 9.1 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
North Stafford came up short against Riverbend in their previous matchup on April 8th, falling 8-5. Will the Wolverines have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more softball content.
