Union is 0-9 against Wes-Del since December of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Union Rockets will be playing in front of their home fans against the Wes-Del Warriors at 6:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Saturday, Union suffered a rough 65-42 defeat at the hands of MTI School of Knowledge. Union has struggled against MTI School of Knowledge recently, as their contest on Saturday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Lamar Schwartz, who scored 12 points along with 9 rebounds and 6 steals. Schwartz is absolutely dominating the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Dawson Ogden, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 16 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Wes-Del came up short against Eastern Hancock on Saturday and fell 54-46. Wes-Del has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Josiah Love, who scored 17 points. He scored a full 37% of Wes-Del's points, the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Gabe Becerra, who scored 9 points.
Their wins bumped Union to 1-2 and MTI School of Knowledge to 2-2.
Union was taken down by Wes-Del 73-15 when the teams last played back in December of 2022. Can Union avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
