If the Maconaquah Braves were feeling good off their 55-32 takedown of the Southwood Knights on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Maconaquah fell 42-29 to Lewis Cass on Friday. While losing is never fun, Maconaquah can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 227th, while Lewis Cass is ranked 90th).
Miranda Stoll and Addie Maiben certainly did their best on Friday to try and avoid the loss. Stoll scored ten points, while Maiben scored four points.
Maconaquah struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only three offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Kinsey Mennen continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Lewis Cass, dropping a double-double on 12 points and 13 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Anna Hedrick, who scored 12 points along with two steals.
Maconaquah's loss dropped their record down to 10-10. As for Lewis Cass, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 19-3 record this season.
Maconaquah will take on Mississinewa at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Lewis Cass on the road again on Friday and play against North Miami at 6:00 p.m. on February 2nd. North Miami is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.
