The East Jessamine Jaguars lost against the Mercer County Titans on January 16th, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. East Jessamine took a serious blow against the Titans, falling 68-34. East Jessamine was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 39-19.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Mercer County to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ak Drakeford, who scored 23 points along with five assists and three steals. Drakeford has been hot recently, having posted 17 or more points the last 16 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Izzie Carlton, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten rebounds.
East Jessamine has not been sharp recently as the team's lost nine of their last ten matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-15 record this season. As for Mercer County, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 13-7.
East Jessamine will be playing in front of their home fans against the Yellowjackets at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Woodford County is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road. As for Mercer County, they will take on the Bearcats at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Anderson County is coming into the game hot, having won their last ten games.
