The Orleans Bulldogs will head out on the road to square off against the Lanesville Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with Orleans sitting on ten straight victories and Lanesville on four.
Borden typically has all the answers at home, but on Thursday Orleans proved too difficult a challenge. They managed a 44-40 victory over the Braves.
Mylie Knight was her usual excellent self, scoring 14 points along with five rebounds and three steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Callie Alston, who scored ten points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, Lanesville can now show off ten landslide victories after their most recent match on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 73-39 win over Trinity Lutheran on the road. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Lanesville has posted since November 30, 2023.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Lanesville to victory, but perhaps none more so than Hylton Brumley, who scored 21 points along with four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Brumley has scored all season. Ava Kerr was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with seven rebounds and five steals.
Orleans' win was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 17-1. Lanesville's record is now 18-1.
Tuesday's game is shaping up to be a scrappy matchup: Orleans have been smashing the glass this season, having only averaged 26.1 rebounds per game. It's a different story for Lanesville, though, as they've been averaging only 22.2 rebounds per game. Given Orleans' sizeable advantage in that area, Lanesville will need to find a way to close that gap.
Orleans took a serious blow against Lanesville in their previous matchup back in January of 2023, falling 54-10. Can Orleans avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
