They claimed a resounding 68-10 win over Minatare at home. Bayard has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten contests by 21 points or more this season.
It was another big night for Joslyn Shay hopkins, who scored 22 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Lexi Fiscus, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Bayard's win was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 16-1. As for Minatare, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-13.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bayard will take on Bridgeport at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Bridgeport's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last seven contests. As for Minatare, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Leyton on January 26th. Leyton presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Minatare in Nebraska (Leyton is ranked 98th, while Minatare is ranked 281st).
