Lincoln put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They claimed a resounding 78-32 win over the Jefferson Yellowjackets. The Lynx have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine contests by 21 points or more this season.
Lincoln was led to victory by Creighton Bracker and Jeremiah Slaughter. Bracker went 9 for 12 en route to 24 points and five rebounds, while Slaughter went 7 of 8 to rack up 12 points and five steals. Bracker continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Etienne Higgins, who went 8 for 15 on his way to 12 points and four steals.
Lincoln was working as a unit and finished the game with 20 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Jefferson only posted seven assists.
Despite the loss, Jefferson still got an impressive performance from Jimmy Cotton, who posted 11 points and six boards. Junior Gatkuoth was another key player, putting up 12 points.
Lincoln's victory was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 17-0. As for Jefferson, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-15.
Looking ahead, Lincoln will head out on the road to take on Sioux City East at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Sioux City East knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 15 games -- so hopefully Lincoln likes a good challenge. As for Jefferson, they will welcome Bishop Heelan Catholic at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
