The home team had come away the winner the last five times Landon and St. Stephen's & St. Agnes had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Bears blew past the Saints 12-6 on Thursday. The Bears might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matches by six runs or more this season.
Matthew Rosner made a big impact no matter where he played. He pitched four innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits. What's more, he posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in May of 2024. He was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring four runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-3.
In other batting news, Landon got a massive performance out of Manny Monsalve, who scored three runs and stole three bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Monsalve continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Jaxon Garon was another key player, scoring a run and stealing four bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
Landon lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.
Landon's record now sits at 9-5. As for St. Stephen's & St. Agnes, they dropped their record down to 1-11 with the loss, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season.
