The Telstar Rebels will head out on the road to face off against the Waterville Panthers at 1:00 p.m. on Monday. Telstar is hoping to put an end to a nine-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
While Telstar couldn't quite beat Boothbay on Thursday, the two-point margin was a huge improvement compared to the 25-point loss they were dealt last Thursday. Telstar fell just short of Boothbay by a score of 40-38. Telstar has not had much luck with Boothbay recently, as the team's come up short the last eight times they've met.
Waterville suffered their biggest loss since December 12, 2023 on Friday. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 63-43 walloping at the hands of Winslow. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat Waterville has suffered against Winslow since February 11, 2021.
Telstar has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season. As for Waterville, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-8.
Telstar was able to grind out a solid win over Waterville in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, winning 61-49. The rematch might be a little tougher for Telstar since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
