After flying high against The New Community School Sabers on Tuesday, the Guardian Christian Academy Royal Knights came back down to earth. Guardian Christian Academy fell 73-63 to Williamsburg Christian Academy on Friday. The final score was a far cry from the score of their previous head-to-head, which saw the teams combine for two points.
Guardian Christian Academy lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Tierre Brown, who scored 26 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Brown scored a full 41.3% of Guardian Christian Academy's points, the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Aaron Kuhn, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 15 rebounds.
Williamsburg Christian Academy was led to victory by Jack Marlowe and Legend Bunch. Marlowe scored 20 points, while Bunch scored 24 points. The game was Bunch's ninth in a row with at least ten points. Jordan Sheppard was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Guardian Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Williamsburg Christian Academy, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-5.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Guardian Christian Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Veritas School at 6:00 p.m. on January 8, 2024. As for Williamsburg Christian Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Bruton at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
