Eastern Missouri recap September 4, 2013
Bowling Green moved up to 261 from 292 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Eastern Missouri. The Bobcats climbed the ranks as a result of beating Orchard Farm 44-38.
Van-Far lost to Living Word Christian 49-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Miguel Hudson was the best wideout in the league this week as North Callaway lost to South Callaway. Hudson tallied 5 receptions for 32 yards. Justin Menard helped North Callaway's passing attack out by catching 3 balls for 28 yards.
Evan Milner put up the best numbers through the air as Montgomery County beat Hermann. He had a total of 7 completions for 70 yards. Milner's favorite target this week was Justin Hall, who caught 2 passes for 20 yards.
Menard was the best running back in the league this week. In 13 carries, he ran for 62 yards as the Thunderbirds fell to the Bulldogs. Kyle Grajeda also contributed to the rushing game with 34 yards on the ground.
A big matchup in Eastern Missouri this week will be when Clopton/Elsberry takes on the Wildcats. As it stands, the Hawks are in sixth, while Montgomery County is in first.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when Clopton/Elsberry takes on John Klekamp's team. Mike Scheibel's team has allowed 28 points this season, while the Wildcats have given up 20. The Hawks allowed 28 points last week as they lost to Winfield.
Montgomery County and the Bearcats played the closest game in the league this week, with Montgomery County eventually emerging with a 23-20 victory. Milner ran for 47 yards during the win.
