The Loomis Chaffee School Pelicans made easy work of the Westminster School Martlets  on Thursday and carried off  a  14-4 win. The  victory made it back-to-back  wins for the Pelicans.
 Violet Peverly made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound,   striking out 12 batters over  six innings while giving up  three earned  (and one unearned) runs off only  one  hit. Peverly was also big at the plate,  going 3-for-4 with two  runs, one  stolen base,  and one  RBI.
 In other batting news,  Bella Cardona was  excellent,  getting on base  in two of her three plate appearances with three  runs and one  stolen base. Another player making a difference was  Solen Trainor, who  went 2-for-4 with two  runs and one  RBI.
Loomis Chaffee School now  has a winning record of 2-1. As for Westminster School, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.
 We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Loomis Chaffee School is set to  challenge  their familiar foe Ethel Walker  at 1:30  p.m.  on Saturday. Meanwhile, Westminster School will  square off against  rival Kingswood Oxford  at 4:30  p.m.  on Tuesday.
