The Haughton Buccaneers will face off against the Quitman Wolverines at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing is sure in Haughton's favor as the team sits on six straight wins at home while Quitman has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.
Haughton's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over Northwood. The result was nothing new for the Buccaneers, who have now won 13 matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Dixie Williams and Charlee Prothro were a major factor while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Williams pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Prothro pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances. At the plate, Williams went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI and two doubles, while Prothro scored two runs while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. Those two doubles gave Williams a new career-high.
In other batting news, Haughton let Kylie Small and Clara Shaffer run wild. Small went 2-for-4 with two runs and one triple, while Shaffer scored two runs while going 3-for-4. That's the most hits Shaffer has posted since back in March. Presley Yerby was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Haughton always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .567. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Northwood only posted an OBP of .222.
Meanwhile, Quitman came into Monday's game having lost four straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Tioga on Monday, sneaking past 4-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Wolverines have posted since March 14th.
Maggie Guyotte spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on five hits.
At the plate, Quitman saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brenna Lamkin, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI. Avery Watson also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
Quitman's win bumped their record up to 18-9. As for Haughton, their victory bumped their record up to 17-15.
