The Holbrook Roadrunners will head out on the road to face off against the Pima Roughriders at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Holbrook sitting on seven straight wins and Pima on 22 (dating back to last season).
Holbrook can now show off seven landslide victories after their most recent contest on Friday. They blew past Tuba City 50-6 on the road.
Holbrook found their leader in underclassman Matthias Montijo, who rushed for 130 yards and two touchdowns on only nine carries. Montijo was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 53 yards. Darnell Nez also helped out as he racked up 105 rushing yards.
Meanwhile, Pima can now show off seven landslide victories after their most recent game on Friday. They breezed by Santa Cruz Valley at home to the tune of 49-20.
Jeremiah Martinez was the offensive standout of the match as he rushed for 89 yards and a touchdown on only nine carries. Tuddy Smart made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.
Pima's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB 5.5 times. Leading the way was Preston Russell and his two sacks.
Holbrook's win was their third straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 7-3. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 45.67 points. As for Pima, their victory bumped their record up to 10-0.
