The Benton Rangers lost against the Mt. Carmel Golden Aces back in November of 2021, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. Benton fell 24-17 to Mt. Carmel. Benton has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Tiffin Kouzoukas threw for 212 yards on 15 of 24 attempts.
Benton's defeat dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Mt. Carmel, the victory was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-1.
Benton does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Mt. Carmel will play host again and welcome Sullivan-Okaw Valley/Bethany, where Kickoff is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Sullivan-Okaw Valley/Bethany will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings (they are ranked 242nd, while Mt. Carmel is ranked 116th).
