Softball Recap: Windsor Comes Up Short

After flying high against Greensville County on Tuesday, Windsor came back down to earth. The Dukes came up short against the Isle of Wight Academy Chargers on Friday, falling 11-4. The Dukes were not able to make up for their loss to the Chargers from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Windsor moved to 4-3 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for Isle of Wight Academy, they pushed their record up to 8-9 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Windsor will face off against Greensville County at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Isle of Wight Academy, they will square off against Peninsula Catholic at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Chargers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Knights have averaged an impressive 9.2 runs per game this season.
