Basketball Recap: Deltona's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Deltona's game on Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They strolled past the Pine Ridge Panthers with points to spare, taking the game 61-44. With that victory, the Wolves brought their scoring average up to 50.1 points per game.

Frantashia Williams was her usual excellent self, putting up 25 points. Another player making a difference was Kelsey Assent, who posted 14 points.

Despite the loss, Pine Ridge still got an impressive performance from Brookelin Murray, who went 6 of 10 on her way to 16 points in addition to five rebounds and five steals. Murray is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last six games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Imani Ihaza, who had five points along with 12 boards and five steals.

With the win, Deltona broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 6-5. As for Pine Ridge, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-9.

Deltona wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, an 86-6 victory against Crooms Academy on the 10th. As for Pine Ridge, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 56-32 loss against Jones on the 10th.
