On the hitting side, Carterville's victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Aidan Swallers, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2.
DuQuoin's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-1. As for Carterville, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
DuQuoin couldn't quite finish off Carterville in their previous matchup back in April of 2023 and fell 7-5.
