Basketball Recap: Fullington Academy Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Fullington Academy extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping them down to 4-6. They were dealt an 84-30 loss at the hands of the First Presbyterian Day Vikings. While losing is never fun, the Trojans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 445th, while the Vikings are ranked 201st).

Fullington Academy's loss came despite strong showings from Brandon Bloodworth and Garlan Godfrey. Bloodworth posted nine points, while Godfrey put up eight points and five boards. Bloodworth has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last five times he's played.

As for First Presbyterian Day, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-2. Their offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

First Presbyterian Day's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Harris Everitt led the charge by shooting 56% from the field on his way to 14 points and four steals. With that strong performance, Everitt is now averaging an impressive 2.5 steals per game. Another player making a difference was Breck Griffin, who earned 11 points along with seven rebounds and three steals.

Fullington Academy has already played their next contest, a 69-42 win against Southwest Georgia STEM Charter on the 15th. First Presbyterian Day will take on Tiftarea Academy in a holiday battle at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The Vikings will need to watch out since the Panthers have now posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
