Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for the South Central Satellites, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They fell just short of the Bluejays by a score of 39-36. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat South Central has suffered against the Bluejays since December 14, 2019.
When it comes to explaining why South Central lost on Tuesday, one person who can't be blamed is Sadie Marks. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds. That was a full 41.7% of South Central's points, marking the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Samantha Marks, who scored seven points along with five rebounds.
North Judson-San Pierre found their leader in underclassman Cailyn Tunis, who scored 19 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kyleigh Lehiy, who scored six points along with ten rebounds.
South Central has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 16-7 record this season. As for North Judson-San Pierre, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-10.
South Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now. North Judson-San Pierre will face off against the Trailblazers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. South Bend Career Academy comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 25 points in their last 15 games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
