Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for the Wylie Pirates, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They were beaten by Rockwall 50-10 on Friday. Wylie was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 36-3.
It was another big night for Ashten Emory, who rushed for 170 yards and four touchdowns on only 12 carries. Emory was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 57 yards. Tristan Gooch also helped out with an impressive 85 receiving yards.
Wylie has not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-5 record this season. As for Rockwall, they have yet to lose a match at home this season, leaving them with a 10-1 record.
Wylie does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Rockwall will take on Waxahachie at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Waxahachie is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last four games.
