It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but the Winston-Salem Christian Lions ultimately got the result they hoped for on Monday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 82-79 victory over Greater Vision Academy. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Despite the loss, Greater Vision Academy had strong showings from Johntez Raspberry, who scored 20 points along with seven rebounds, and Titus Tucker, who scored 20 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Raspberry has scored all season. Greysen McCadden was another key contributor, scoring 19 points along with six rebounds.
Winston-Salem Christian pushed their record up to 16-13 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 81.0 points per game. As for Greater Vision Academy, their defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 14-7.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Winston-Salem Christian won't have much time to rest: their next game is against the Warriors on February 6th. As for Greater Vision Academy, they will be playing at home against the Eagles at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
