The Mount Union Trojans will head out on the road to face off against the United Valley co-op [Blacklick Valley/United] at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
After a string of seven wins, Mount Union's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a 34-19 bruising from Karns City.
Despite their defeat, Mount Union saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Bryce Danish, who threw for 212 yards and two touchdowns on only 17 passes, was perhaps the best of all. Nasir Collins was in the mix too, providing Mount Union with two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, after only six points in their last match, United Valley co-op [Blacklick Valley/United] made sure to put some points up on the board against Conemaugh Township on Friday. United Valley co-op [Blacklick Valley/United] simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Conemaugh Township 49-7 on the road. Given United Valley co-op [Blacklick Valley/United]'s advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania football rankings (they are ranked 233rd, while Conemaugh Township is ranked 513th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
United Valley co-op [Blacklick Valley/United]'s success was spearheaded by the efforts of Isaac Worthington, who rushed for 128 yards and a touchdown on only ten carries, and Caden McCully, who rushed for 104 yards and four touchdowns. Worthington was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 60 yards.
Mount Union's defeat dropped their record down to 8-2. As for United Valley co-op [Blacklick Valley/United], their victory was their seventh straight on the road (dating back to last season), which bumped their overall record up to 9-1.

However, it's not like United Valley co-op [Blacklick Valley/United] struggles in that department as they've been averaging 235.7 per game.
