The Tolleson Wolverines pushed their score all the way to 55 on Monday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 66-55 to Valley Vista. Tolleson has not had much luck with Valley Vista recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
Several Wolverines players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jahlil Loyd, who scored 21 points along with five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Judah Lancaster, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds.
Tolleson has not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-9 record this season. As for Valley Vista, their win ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-11.
Tolleson will take on Cesar Chavez at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Cesar Chavez will be looking to extend their current 13-game winning streak. As for Valley Vista, they will head out on the road to square off against Shadow Ridge at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Arizona (Shadow Ridge is ranked 136th, while Valley Vista is ranked 137th).
