The Windber Ramblers will face off against the Shade Panthers at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Windber is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.1 runs per game this season.
Windber's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They walked away with a 5-0 victory over North Star. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Ramblers.

Rylee Baer made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 15 over seven innings pitched. Those 15 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double. She has been hot recently, having posted two or more stolen bases the last three times she's played.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kaylie Gaye, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run. Cameron Mash was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one run and one double.
Windber hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as North Star struck out 15 times.
Meanwhile, Shade was able to grind out a solid win over Turkeyfoot Valley Area on Tuesday, taking the game 9-6.
Like Windber, Shade also got a great game from a two-way player: Payton Maddy. On the mound, she struck out ten batters over seven innings while giving up five earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. Maddy was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
In other batting news, Hayden Maddy was incredible, going 2-for-4 with four RBI, one triple, and one run. Another player making a difference was Patty Kovacs, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.
Shade's victory bumped their record up to 9-2. As for Windber, their win bumped their record up to 11-3.
Wednesday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Windber hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .364. However, it's not like Shade struggles in that department as they've averaged .394. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Windber beat Shade 12-9 when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Will the Ramblers repeat their success, or do the Panthers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
