Football Recap: Seneca Piles Up the Points Against Blue Ridge

There's no place like home for Seneca, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat the Blue Ridge Fighting Tigers 47-13. Considering the Bobcats have won six matchups by more than 20 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Seneca's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Gavin Thoma, who threw for 250 yards and four touchdowns while completing 81% of his passes, and also punched in one score on the ground. Another pass catcher making a difference was Jeremiah Hunter, who picked up 147 receiving yards and three TDs.

When it comes to explaining why Blue Ridge lost, don't look at Gavin Forrester. Despite the final result, he rushed for 106 yards and one score on only 12 carries, and also threw for 167 yards on 17 of 24 attempts. Forrester's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 106 rushing yards.

Seneca's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-1. Those home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.3 points over those games. As for Blue Ridge, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-2.

Seneca has already played their next contest, a 59-0 win against Berea on the 10th. As for Blue Ridge, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 61-21 loss against Greer on the 10th.
