It was a good run, but the Bennington Badgers unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They took a 51-41 hit to the loss column at the hands of Skutt Catholic. Bennington has not had much luck with the SkyHawks recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Despite the loss, Bennington saw an underclassman step up: Skylar Johnson went 6 for 9 from beyond the arc en route to 20 points and 3 assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Johnson has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Presley Baca, who scored ten points along with five rebounds.
Bennington's defeat dropped their record down to 11-6. As for Skutt Catholic, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 17-1.
Bennington will look to defend their home court on Thursday against the Bluejays at 7:15 p.m. Skutt Catholic will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against the Cougars at 7:15 p.m. on February 1st. Gross Catholic will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Nebraska Rankings (they are ranked 133rd, while the SkyHawks are ranked first).
