West Columbus had a senior duo take command as Unique Kelly scored 28 points along with five steals and Jaylen Bellamy scored 18 points along with six steals and five rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Kelly has scored at least a third of West Columbus' points. Tyler Watts-Brown was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
West Columbus' victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-4. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.4 points per game. As for Pender, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-9.
West Columbus will head out on the road to challenge East Columbus at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. East Columbus has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games. Pender won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Wallace-Rose Hill at 5:30 p.m. on January 20th.
