Adams came up short against Poteet on Tuesday, falling 11-1. The Cougars have struggled against the Pirates recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.
Meanwhile, after only two runs in their last game, Wilson made sure to put some runs up on the board against Seagoville on Tuesday. The Wildcats put the hurt on the Dragons with a sharp 23-5 victory. The contest marked the Wildcats' most dominant win of the season.
Savanah Vargas made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs off four hits. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in strikeouts (three). She was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two doubles and one RBI.
In other batting news, Wilson got a massive performance out of Taylor Rogers, who went 3-for-4 with four stolen bases, three RBI, and one run. Wilson is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-8 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 17.0 runs over those games. As for Adams, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.
Adams came out on top in a nail-biter against Wilson in their previous matchup on March 9th, sneaking past 19-18. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cougars since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
