The Lynbrook Vikings will head out on the road to take on the Monta Vista Matadors at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Friday, Lynbrook came up short against the Firebirds and fell 49-37. While losing is never fun, Lynbrook can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 670th, while the Firebirds are ranked 282nd).
Meanwhile, Monta Vista's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fifth straight loss. They took a 53-47 hit to the loss column at the hands of Cupertino. Monta Vista has not had much luck with the Pioneers recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Lynbrook has not been sharp recently as the team's lost six of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-14 record this season. As for Monta Vista, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 10-11.
Lynbrook came up short against the Matadors in their previous meeting back in January, falling 52-42. Can Lynbrook avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
