Battle put the finishing touches on their seventh blowout victory of the season on Saturday. They took their match on the road with ease, bagging a 76-39 win over Southern Boone. With Battle ahead 31-10 at the half, the match was all but over already.
Vernell Holt and Tate Mccubbin were among the main playmakers for Battle as the former scored 21 points along with five rebounds and the latter almost dropped a double-double on 19 points and nine rebounds. Keyion Cross was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Meanwhile, Capital City strolled past the Indians with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 71-56.
Battle is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 13 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-4 record this season. As for Capital City, their win bumped their record up to 9-7.
Battle strolled past the Cavaliers in their previous meeting back in January of 2023 by a score of 79-63. Will Battle repeat their success, or do the Cavaliers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
