Softball Recap: Halifax Takes a Loss

Halifax dropped their record down to 6-8 on Thursday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins. They lost 10-0 to the Susquenita Blackhawks. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Blackhawks this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 17-0 back in April.

As for Susquenita, the win keeps they at an undefeated 18-0. The result was nothing new for the Blackhawks, who have now won 16 matchups by nine runs or more so far this season.

For Susquenita's part, the result came thanks to Braelyn Prinz's shutout, as she gave up just two hits and racked up nine Ks. Prinz has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Tierney Stuempfle, who went 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one double. Another player making a difference was Addison Fritz, who went 3-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Halifax is set to challenge their familiar foe East Juniata at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Susquenita will take on rival Newport at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday.
