Meanwhile, after a string of seven wins, Lincoln Southeast's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They took a 58-46 hit to the loss column at the hands of Pius X.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Jake Hilkemann, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Mike Ngoyi, who scored ten points.
Omaha Northwest's defeat was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 1-7. As for Lincoln Southeast, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-4.
Keep an eye on the arc in Tuesday's match: Omaha Northwest have made nailing deep shots look easy this year this season, having only averaged 6.9 threes per game. It's a different story for Lincoln Southeast, though, as they've been averaging only 6.4 threes per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
